Shamokin Dam Borough Council meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. (If a holiday happens to fall on that date, the meeting will be held the following day (Tuesday)) Council Workshop meetings will be held the 3rdThursday of each month on an as needed basis. You are invited and encouraged to attend all Borough meetings. All meetings are held in the municipal building located at 42 W. 8th Avenue, Shamokin Dam unless advertised differently.

The parks can be used year round from dawn until dusk. Reservations for 2018 activities can be made after January 1, 2018 by contacting the Borough office at 570-743-7565.

TRANSIENT RETAILERS LICENSE REQUIRED BY BOROUGH ORDINANCE
Anyone selling goods or services in a transient manner (including door to door) within the Borough is required, by ordinance, to register with the police department prior to doing business. Ask for the Borough issued salesman's license if you are unsure whether a business is a legitimate compnay and report any suspicious activity to the police department at 570-743-2671.
BRUSH COLLECTION POLICY
The Borough Crew will remove any small limbs or landscape trimmings that you may accumulate on a weekly basis. Pick up day for this service is every Monday as schedule allows. If a holiday falls on a Monday the collection will be the following day. If a large volume of items are to be picked up, the pickup may extend into Tuesday.
Please have the items placed along the street the night before so nothing is missed. Also limit brush on a weely basis to one (1) pile no larger that 3 ft wide by 5 ft long by 3 ft high.Any loose objects (landscape trimmings/leaves, etc.) should be bagged.
Please contact the Borough office before starting any large trimming, pruning or tree removal project.
Entire trees and shrubbery items that are removed should be disposed of by the owner, either by the company or individuals contracted to remove the items.
In the event of severe storm damage to trees, the removal of limbs and branches can also be coordinated with the Borough office.
We will not pick up any ground/stones/mulch or grass clippings.

Per Capita Tax: A per capita tax is a flat rate tax levied upon each adult within the taxing district.
Are you 18 years of age or older? If so, you should be receiving a tax bill. If you are currently not receiving this bill, please contact the Snyder County Assessment Office at 570-837-4315 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
