Shamokin Dam Boro has five of their seven elective council positions open to a primary contest this spring with 4 four-year terms and 1 two-year term. The Mayoral seat and the Tax collector position will be up for election. The Borough has been notified that the current Tax Collector will be retiring at the end of this year. Scope of responsibilities for each position are available at the borough office. All these elected terms end December 31, 2025. Interested people are encouraged to pick up petitions for the varied elective positions at the Snyder County Board of Elections, Middleburg, February 18th or soon thereafter. Petitions may be circulated between Feb 18 and March 11; at which time they must be filed at the courthouse. Snyder County Board of Elections can answer your concerns about processing the petitions for the May 20th municipal primary.

This is a community alerting system and is NOT used for any commercial purpose. It will enable Shamokin Dam Borough or our police to instantly relay vital information to Borough residents. There is no cost to sign up and an added benefit would be receiving Snyder County alerts as well.
